Woodworking Lead for Post Assembly
We’re looking for a Woodworking Lead for our Post Assembly department. This role is ideal for someone who loves keeping things moving—the kind of person who naturally organizes, communicates, and solves “what’s next?” before it becomes a problem. You’ll lead a 5-person Post Assembly team where all job components come together (cabinet doors, moulding, plywood, drawer fronts, face frames, etc.) before moving to the next stage of production.
What You’ll Do
As the Post Assembly Lead, you’ll be responsible for daily coordination, workflow, and accuracy—making sure the right partes are married together, priorities are understood, and material moves smoothly between departments.
- Lead and coordinate a 5-person team to hit daily production goals
- Own workflow organization: staging, sequencing, job priority management, and “ready-to-go” preparation
- Communicate consistently with neighboring departments to prevent bottlenecks and keep material flowing
- Ensure quality and completeness of assembled job components before handoff
- Train team members, reinforce expectations, and build a strong, accountable culture
- Use and improve standardized work: checklists, SOPs, labeling, staging systems, and visual organization
- Support hands-on woodworking tasks as needed (sanding/prep for finish, boring, Bacci machine operation, and related post-assembly processes)
What Success Looks Like
- Your area is organized, labeled, staged, and predictable
- Priorities are clear, and the team stays aligned without constant rework
- Upstream/downstream departments say: “Post Assembly is easy to work with”
- Jobs leave your department complete, correct, and on time
What We’re Looking For
Must-haves:
- Woodworking/manufacturing experience (you’ll be leading a hands-on team)
- Strong organizational and logistics skills (this is the core of the role)
- Proven communication skills: clear verbal updates + written notes/checklists
- 1+ year leadership experience (or clear lead/shift-lead equivalent responsibility)
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under time pressure
Preferred:
- Logistics, warehousing, production coordination, or scheduling background
- Experience building/using SOPs, checklists, staging systems, or visual workflow tools
Hour are generally 6:00 a.m. 2:30 p.m. with required overtime when necessary.
